Liberty and Justice for All??

I don't even know where to begin. I'm living in a free Nation, and I'm glad. Especially considering some of my past actions would definitely have had me killed in other countries. I love the fact that I have th freedom to make my own choices, and to have my own opinion. I even love the fact that there are men, I have never met willing to fight, and die, for my freedom.

What confuses me, is with all of these freedoms, there are still people in this country who don't know how to form their own opinions without having someone like, Boortz, Hannity, or any of the Fox news Anchors, telling them what their opinions are. Heck! At that point, you might as well go to a Klan rally and form your opinions there.

There are a few “concepts” floating around our capitol that throw me off a bit. Maybe my problem is I'm wrong, or under-informed, but, let me list a few key phrases that have been used that just tickle my nerves.

“Stay the Coarse”- Cool. I understand withdrawing troops now, might send a message of weakness to our enemies, (who and where ever they may be) so keeping the troops where they are might be the best decision. But, what exactly is “the coarse”? When I get on a bus, a plane, or even in a car, the coarse is clear. I normally know where I'll stop, and most importantly, where I'll end up. My coarse is laid out, and I like that. If I got on a plane, and the captain came on and said, “I'm not exactly sure where we are going, nor do I know if we will ever get to a final location, but.... I recommend you stay the coarse.” I'm getting off of that plane, no questions asked.

“War on Terror” - Again, cool. Not a problem for me. I'm just a little confused. Maybe I didn't get the Fox News Memo. When exactly did the war on terror become “the war on Iraq” or “the war on Muslims”.? I just want to clear this up so I can be the model republican citizen the administration needs me to be.

“Close the Border” Again..... Cool... I guess.... I can see how the Muslims could sneak into this country, posing as Hispanics to eventually formulate an earth altering plot of mass devastation, potentially leading to the great demise of America. But honestly...... aren't we digging a little bit here? As for the Hispanics taking over, I don't see it. They want to come into this country for the same reasons our ancestors came in. (in the process running off and killing numerous native american tribes.) Difference is, we don't like them, and we have guns, police and rednecks to single them out and try to run them off.

I can only imagine what would have happened if the Cherokee tribe had George W. Brushfire, when we invaded and destroyed this, once beautiful country. I don't know, again, I might be over reading that phrase that was so catchy in 1776.... Liberty and Justice for ALL....

As for building a wall on the border... GREAT IDEA!!! I can't think of one single time in history where a wall was the ultimate demise of the super power of the world... besides, history doesn't repeat itself.

Who you love.

When asked,”what makes a person?” Most people might say, what they believe, what they've done, what they stand for, what they've seen, or maybe even, what they haven't done. I don't think that's it at all. What makes a person, to me? Who they love.

Tons of people have seen the world, Christopher Columbus discovered a new world, traveled around the world, and saw just about the entire world. Still, ended up spending a good portion of his life jailed for embezzlement. In the end, who was he really? Just another person.

Galileo. The first to argue that the earth does in fact does revolve around the sun. He believed that with all of his heart. In the long run, he was also jailed, and eventually forced to take back his beliefs. Maybe now, he is well respected, but in the end, he died, jailed, lonely. Who was he really? Just another person.

You see, I've been thinking a lot about Jesus Christ lately. He also spend his last days jailed, not with “holy men”, but among sinners. In a cell, staring at a wall, by one of his own. He still loved everyone. With all of his heart, he loved everyone.

As a matter of fact, one of the last things he did on this planet was invite a prisoner to walk with him in the kingdom of Heaven. At a time, when many men have spit on him, hit him, and turned their back on him, Jesus still loved them. Still loved us. Jesus loved that prisoner, as much as he loved anyone. Jesus knew, it takes a lot to love a sinner, but the sinner, needs it the most.

See some people spend their entire lives trying to change the world. Trying to come up with new theories, methods or beliefs. Not me. The world's been changed enough. I take that back, the worlds been changed too much. If people spent as much time loving as they spend trying to change the world, or prove things wrong, this world would closer to the place it once was. Jesus had the right idea. Why is it so hard to follow? You'd think it'd be easy, but it's not. It's something we all struggle with.

Love should be what makes the world go round, not money, success, theories, inventions, or hate. I know it sounds obvious but, is it?
